The 2008 version of ISO/IEC 12207 has been released. This new version of 12207 is the first step that ISO/IEC is taking to fully harmonized ISO/IEC 12207 with ISO/IEC 15288 System life cycle processes standard.

Mumbai India WG 7 Meeting
WG 7 met in Mumbai India 17 November to 22, 2011. At the meeting there were 20 delegates from 11 countries and three liaison organization.
The highlights were:
- System and Software Guides Consolidated
ISO/IEC TR 15271 Guide for ISO/IEC 12207 and ISO/IEC TR 19760 Guide for ISO/IEC 15288 will become ISO/IEC TR 24748.
- Part 4: One year project extension
- Part 5 Software Development Planning - NWIP passed on Oct. 10,2011
- New quality standard - ISO/IEC 15026 System and Software Assurance is designed as a four part document:
- Part 3 (System Integrity Levels) will be published first quarter od 2012
- Part 4 (Assurance in the Life Cycle) is in the DIS stage
- Requirement Engineering Standard ISO/IEC 29148
Estimated publication date is fourth quarter 0f 2011
- The Integration/Harmonization of IEEE 1220 with ISO/IEC/15288
This project was assigned to a study group.
- Commence work on a new standard for system and software verification and validation. A special working group is studying a taxonomy on V & V
- ISO/IEC TR 30103 - Framework for Product Quality Achievement
- CD Ballot second quarter of 2012
