Mr. Hill is a successful
and highly motivated software consultant located
in Seattle WA with more than 38 years of experience. Mr. Hill is an
expert on the RTCA DO-178B software approval process for
airborne and ground-based systems. He has been a consultant with the
Dept. of Defense,
McDonnell Douglas, FAA and Bell Aerospace. He has also been an expert
witness in two major avionics litigations suits. Prior to
establishing his own consultation firm he worked
for the Boeing Company for 29 years, where he held
positions in senior engineering management. Mr.
Hill has worked on the Boeing SST, YC14, 737, 757, 767, 7J7, and 777
airplanes. Mr. Hill is a Designated Engineering Representative for
Level "A" Software
approvals. He is a graduate with a BSEE, from the University

Mr. Harauz
is an authority on the development and
application of system engineering and software engineering standards for
high-integrity (high safety or security) computer systems.
Mr. Harauz through his company Jonic Systems Engineering
applies
systems engineering approaches coupled with excellent analytical and
problem solving skills to resolve complex software engineering or system
engineering problems related to such systems. His focus is on building
integrity (safety) into a system throughout the complete development
lifecycle. He
has more than 36 years of experience with the development and operation
of safety-related computer systems in Canadian nuclear power plants,
including the regulatory licensing of such systems.
He
has an intimate knowledge of nuclear plant safety culture which is
applicable to other domains. In addition he has the skills and
background to assist in enterprise process improvement activities
surrounding complex engineering change processes. Mr. Harauz holds a
Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a
Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of
Toronto. He also holds the IEEE Computer Society�s new certification,
Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP). Prior to
establishing his own consultancy, John worked for
Ontario Power Generation Inc (OPG), formerly Ontario Hydro, for 26
years, where he held positions in engineering management.
He co-authored Ontario Power Generation/Atomic Energy Canada Ltd.
Software Engineering (OASES) Standards and supporting guidelines which
have been internationally recognized and for which he
received a corporate New Technology award in 1995.
As a consultant he has participated in the development of a real time
air stack noble gas monitoring system and the development and
verification of design bases documentation for Ontario Power Generation
facilities. He created and delivered a CSDP software engineering
training program for Samsung in Korea. He assists with the preparation
of corporate submissions with respect to computer and software systems
that are eligible for the Canadian
Scientific
Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) Tax Incentive.
He also participates as a subject manager expert in safety-related
computer system audits.
John is a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO), a
Senior Member of the IEEE Computer Society, and a member of IEC TC45
WGA3, "Software for Computers in the Safety Systems of Nuclear Power
Plants", ISO/IEC JTC1/SC7 "Software and System Engineering", and IEEE
Systems and Software Engineering Standards Committee.

Mr.
Rice is a leading author, speaker and
consultant in the field of software testing and software quality. Rice, a
Certified Software Quality Analyst, Certified Software Tester, Certified
Software Test Manager and an ASTQB Certified Tester – Foundation Level (CTFL),
has worked with organizations worldwide to improve the quality of their
information systems and optimize their testing processes.
Mr. Rice has over 30 years experience
building and testing mission-critical projects in a variety of environments.
Randy was the exclusive trainer for a major agency of the U.S. Dept. of
Defense in software testing and software engineering, including how to apply
the IEEE standards for software engineering. He wrote all of the courses
presented there on the topics of software testing, QA and the IEEE
standards, such as IEEE 12207, IEEE 829, and IEEE 830. He also consults as a
subject matter expert to organizations wishing to adopt IEEE software
engineering standards.
Mr. Rice has also has experience in
validating FDA regulated software. In 1995, Randy worked with a coalition of
U.S. and Canadian blood banks and hospitals to write and present a training
course, “Computer System Validation for Blood Banking Establishments”. This
course became the de-facto standard for performing computer system
validation in the U.S. and Canada.
Mr. Rice
is an officer of the American Software Testing Qualifications Board and has
been published by the Journal of the Quality Assurance Institute, Crosstalk,
Client/Server Better Software and Enterprise Systems Journal. He is
co-author with William E. Perry of the books, Surviving the Top Ten
Challenges of Software Testing published by Dorset House Publishing Co.
Mr. Rice
is a
frequent speaker at major testing conferences, including EuroStar, StarEast,
StarWest, QAI’s International Software Testing Conference, Practical
Software Quality Techniques, and the Software Technology Conference
sponsored by the U.S. Dept. of Defense. He was a judge for the 2005 Codie
awards for excellence in software testing tools
Mr. Rice holds a
BS (Math) 1978 (University of Science and
Arts of Oklahoma) and the following certifications:
CSTE (Certified Software Tester - QAI), CSQA
(Certified Software Quality Analyst - QAI), CTFL (Certified Tester,
and Foundation Level - ISTQB.
